Today's theme is the Eye of Horus , an ancient symbol inherited from Egyptian civilization, used for protection. It is related to the god of the same name, son of Isis and Osiris . God of the sky, he had the head of a falcon and his eyes represented the sun and the moon. The symbol, originating from Ancient Egypt, means protection, courage, power, strength, vigor, security and health. It is also known as Udyat .

The ancient Egyptians believed that Horus lost his left eye in a fight with his uncle. Seth , god of destruction and brother of Osiris. After killing his brother to take his place on the throne, Seth also wanted to kill his nephew, who would be next in line to the throne of Egypt. Horus, then the son, grandson and great-grandson of gods (direct descendant of the sun god Ra), grew up unaware of his uncle's plans and had a normal childhood for a god. As an adult, he fought Seth several times, and in one of these battles he lost his eye, which was cut into several pieces. After learning of what had happened, the god Thoth (god of wisdom) joined the cut pieces and gave Horus a new eye. With his sight restored, Horus finally defeated Seth in one of his last battles. The Egyptians then began to use the amulet for protection, also placing it in the tombs of the dead. The animal that represents Horus is the falcon.

The amulet is often used to protect against the evil eye and to ward off envy, but many extremists, without studying or knowing symbolism and history, associate the eye with bad things and even with Satanism. There are two representations of the Eye of Horus: the left and the right. The left represents the moon, the feminine side, with thoughts and feelings, intuition and the ability to see the spiritual, and the right side represents the sun (god Ra) and is responsible for understanding words, letters and numbers, it is the masculine side, warmer.

Even today, the Eye of Horus is confused with the All-Seeing Eye (one of the main Masonic and Illuminati symbols), a confusion that causes misinterpretation of the amulet. The Eye is very popular in the West; many people wear it as a pendant or tattoo. It is common to see amulets in the form of necklaces for sale in esoteric shops and fairs.
